This is a standard (reduced) port valve, which is common for cost-effective flow control. For applications requiring minimal pressure drop, a full port version is recommended.

The wafer-style valve is installed between two pipeline flanges and secured with bolts, creating a compact and leak-tight seal. It is not designed for end-of-line service.
